Unforgettable Farm Experiences for Students

Inside a Modern Dairy Farm: Robotics, Milk Production, and Calves
The day’s journey began at Forest Lawn Holsteins, where students had the unique opportunity to see modern dairy farming in action. They were amazed by the technology involved, particularly the robotic milking systems, which showcased the advancements in agriculture. Many were surprised by just how much milk cows produce daily. A major highlight was getting up close with the calves, and students eagerly took turns petting them.
Exploring Sustainable Agriculture at Drummers Garden Center
At Drummers Garden Center, students explored another side of agriculture—plants, gardening, and the science behind growing food. This stop allowed them to connect the dots between farming, food production, and their own communities.

Student Feedback: How Farm Camp Changed Their Perspective
The impact of the Farm Camp experience was significant. Before the event, only 69% of students felt knowledgeable about the agricultural industries they were visiting. Afterward, that number soared to 92%, demonstrating the power of hands-on learning.
The field trip was such a hit. When I checked in with the teacher, parents, and students, I heard nothing but positive feedback. MANY students had NEVER been to a farm, let alone had the opportunity to interact with livestock—so cool! Thank you for helping coordinate this experience for our students!
