6th Grade Harvest-in-Action Tour
10/07/2021 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
6th grade students from all over Redwood and Renville counties jumped in the combine for harvest with farmer Bruce Tiffany. This virtual experience followed the same students who were participants in 5th Grade Ag Day last spring. Students were able to see the “fruit” of Bruce’s spring labor that they witnessed being planted last May.
Questions about affording large machinery, crop yield after a dry season and combine technology were all honestly answered by Bruce. He shared that his operation uses so many academic lessons that he learned in school; math, engineering, communication and science. 6th Grade educators were sent lessons to utilize before Bruce’s tour and after to increase student ag literacy about corn and crops but also about careers that Bruce engages with to create a successful farm operation.
