HOW IT
WORKS?
Farm Camp works with educators and agricultural producers to create a dynamic hands-on experience for students. Farm Camp provides Ag Hosts a platform for them to share their story.
Farm Camp is a program under the Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom Foundation (MAITC) that supplies educators with educational materials to best prepare students for their on-site experience. Through the use of MAITC lessons, students gain an understanding of a specific agricultural product to support learning prior to their on-farm experience. Pre-visit lessons set students up for a successful on-site experience by growing their agricultural literacy.
STAY CONNECTED
AG HOSTS RESOURCES
We believe a successful tour comes together through preparation. We provide everything from how to get started, tips to help Ag Hosts plan an engaging tour, and video resources from seasoned educators with how to deliver content to varying age levels.
In addition, Farm Camp also provides Ag Hosts with a checklist that helps them successfully coordinate their Farm Camp experience. Following your tour, Farm Camp provides a social media platform and a press release outline to help the Ag Host share their story and the success of the event locally and online.
EDUCATOR RESOURCES
We believe learning starts in the classroom prior to the Farm Camp experience. We will provide high-quality, standards-based lessons to Educators to begin the conversation about agriculture and educate their students on a specific agricultural topic leading up to their Farm Camp visit.
In addition to lessons, Farm Camp also provides Educators and Ag Hosts a checklist that helps them successfully coordinate their Farm Camp tour. Following the Farm Camp experience, Educators will have access to student evaluations to check for understanding. Following your tour, Farm Camp provides a social media platform and a press release outline to share your classroom's experience locally and online.
